写给10年后的自己
Dear Heidi,
Now I’m writing to you in 2010, imaging what your life will be like in 2020.
- Still be kind, honest and optimistic.
- Still believe that good results comes from creativity and hard working, don’t get lost in laziness or vanity.
- Don’t become a workaholic, never consider money or power a must for being happy.
- Always have the curiosity to learn and the heart to love.
- Keep in touch with all the friends that you’re closed to today.
- By now you should be able to speak perfect English and decent German.
- Still love music and movie, and reading good books. Keep working out to maintain a good shape.
- Have been in a strange city/town at least once a year, been in Europe a couple of times now.
- Be less aggressive, less cocky, less reckless; more considerate, more consistent, more caring.
- Love your husband and your kid(s) (you should have them by then), but don’t use your love to manipulate their lifestyle. More importantly, love yourself and cherish every good things that happened to you, including your health, your talent and your strong mind.
Love, Heidi

into 2010
I’ve been speaking English for the last few hours today, and then called my grandpa in Wuhanese. My brain got really confused, and now I’d like to carry on in English for a little bit longer.
Went to Tianjin with Maggie today, this city has changed quite a lot since the last time I was there five years ago. The train station looked like an airport and there were lots of fancy streets of European style and skyscrapers. Five years ago, another hometown friend commented that Tianjin was as shabby as Wuchang. Now Wuchang is not shabby anymore, neither is Tianjin. However, it was really cold and snowed, so we ended up huddling in Starbucks playing Sanguosha. I successfully spread this game to 5 more ppl, how great was that?! no to mention that one of them has been living abroad for more than 10 years and the other one could hardly read any Chinese. And there is one thing in Starbucks that I like more than Charlie Brown: they always have something to meet the special occasion. I guess I’m probably their promotors’s favourite that I would order anything they encourage us to get. The taffy nuts latte was yummy indeed. Btw, I always enjoy making fun of those 海外华人. Moreover, Maggie said I was speaking in British accent, Oh Yeah~
